See rare underwater footage as well as spectacular views of Pacific Rim National Park Reserve from the air and on land. Get a feel for the rugged beauty of this coastal park and its wildlife. Observe sea birds and whales swimming in the ocean. Watch sea lions basking on a rock. Admire the varied landscape, from islands to rainforest to waterfalls. Follow a surfer riding the waves and sea kayakers exploring the rocky coastline. This video will show you why Pacific Rim is one of Canada’s national treasures.

Nestled between Vancouver Island’s coastal mountains and the open Pacific, Pacific Rim National Park Reserve protects dense coastal rainforests, an extensive coastline of rugged west coast beauty and sandy beaches pounded by the endless surf. Pacific Rim includes the Broken Group Islands archipelago, scenic Long Beach and the famous West Coast Trail, one of the Worlds premier backcountry hiking experiences. Teeming with life both above and below the waves, Pacific Rim is as rich and diverse in nature as it is beautiful and inspiring to visit.

Vorsicht: Lyrik!

Zwischenwelt

In sanften wellen und wogen
umfließt das blonde grasmeer
die einsamen, gedrungenen bäume

In der hitze des nachmittags
fühle ich den winter aus meiner
seele tropfen
Der blaue himmel über mir
erscheint mir so frisch, so neu
als sähe ich ihn zum ersten mal

Wenn das zwitschern der singvögel
das klagende gespräch der krähen
und das sachte knallen ihrer
schwingen
eine zeit lang die einzigen laute
in meiner welt sind
habe ich mein sorgenvolles stadtleben
für eine weile vergessen

Der geruch der bäume, der gräser,
des sandes
der duft der sonne auf meiner haut
umhüllen meine sinne
mit frieden

Fern, undenkbar fern
erscheint das rauschen der autos
das langsam, ganz langsam
sich wieder einen weg
in mein bewusstsein bahnt
Mit einem stillen seufzen
erinnere ich mich:
ich habe die stadt nicht verlassen

Als ich zögernd meinen weg
dorthin zurück suche
denke ich mir
es müsste in jedem moment
mines lebens
eine kleine tür geben
die mich hierher führt

LadyFromVulcan (März 2005)

Sorry for those of you who don’t understand German. I’m working on a translation that I might add here. Maybe you’ll enjoy the pictures (they were taken at a German preserve area)and the music at least.

- pictures taken at a Geman preserve area called Mainzer Sand
- music: Chris de Burgh, “Sailing Away” (instrumental version by the Belgrade Philharmonic Orhestra

I took this video on Mother’s Day at Big Game Alaska (a preserve not a zoo), close to the Portage turnoff, and situated in actuality within the bounds of the original town of Portage before the 1964 earthquake.

Here, three brown bears were fed a moose leg that was dropped over the fence via bulldozer, and tied up. Soon, a coyote appeared and waited on the horizon, and the three bears trotted forth.

Although it may seem like only two of these bears are really featured, the first bear is the Submissive one, who wanders off to wait after the dominant ones appear; he can be seen briefly again at the first “growling”.

Watch through the credits — there’s a short clip following it. This is not the same area of the preserve, by the way, and is instead on the way back out.

Viktor Schauberger was an Austrian inventor and naturalist who built and patented a water ram pump involving a spiral flow which he claimed to have learned from a visit to the Egyptian pyramid. Schauberger is considered the father of implosion technology. Many of his inventions are based on his study of fluidic vortexes…..
This is Tom Brown ’s fascinating video documentary Nature Was My Teacher – The Vision of Viktor Schauberger which vividle presents the natural philosophy of famous austrian forester Viktor Schauberger who developed his own way of understanding nature’s principles and by emulating them developed many machines and useful ways to harness the natural energy in a non-destructive way.
He grew up among the magnificent Austrian forests, wanting to become a forest warden like his father, grandfather, great grandfather and his father, before him. But life was to take Viktor far from the peace & solitude of the great mountains and forests. Instead he was to lead the struggle to preserve the Earth, the forests and rivers; attacking the exploitation of nature, as early as the 1920s.
Nature was his teacher – through an understanding of nature’s principles, seen in the flowing motion of water, he gave the world a vision of how technology could be transformed to render free, non-polluting energy for our use. He warned of the consequences, facing humanity, if the present death-oriented technology continued!
During World War II, Schauberger was forced by the German SS to continue his research into vortex technology to aid in the design of German planes and even a type of fly saucer,… the Repulsin.
He died, betrayed by the same powers who promised to make his dreams a reality – commercial gangsters, who TAKE ALL and give NOTHING in return!
= Viktor Schauberger,.. prophesied the environmental crises we are seeing today, predicting that unless we start to cherish rather than exploit our world, we would surely destroy ourselves.
