will strrawberry preserves be ok to use as a filling for a strawberry cake?

just bked a box strawberry cake. want to spice it up a bit. would the preserves be ok. not too sweet?? any hints?

They would be great. You could cut the cake is 1/2. Slide off the top 1/2 add a layer of the preserves and slide the top back on, then frost like normal.

    that would work fine, add some fresh lemon juice to them to freshen them up some

    Yeah, it’ll be pretty good. If you’re worried about it being too sweet you can look for companies that don’t add any additional sugar, including fake sweeteners. But you shouldn’t have a problem with real preserves.
