What is the different between jelly and preserves?

i’m confused because my mom bought jelly and she bought preserves too.

preserves has the fruit left in it when made. The jelly is made from the peelings and strained to get a clear broth. The preserves has chuncks of the fruit in it.

The easiest way to tell them apart is to hold up the jar and look through it. Jelly is clear and preserves are not. Or you could just read the label!
I like preserves because it has the whole fruit in it.
