What is a healthy alternative to jelly/jam/preserves?

I like using them on my peanut butter sandwiches, but they have minimal nutritional value due to the way they are prepared. Are there any healthy alternatives? I am considering using mashed banana as a spread; does anyone have any other suggestions?

You could always make your own healthy sugar free jam by purchasing dried apricots (sulfite free) and just cook them up with some water until you get a stiff paste. We thin it down for pancakes or use it as a delicious spread.

honey, fresh sliced strawberries or apples, or bananas, most any fresh fruit sliced thin will do.

  2. You can purchase an all-fruit alternative to jelly or jam. You can find it in the isle with the jelly at the store.

    try this instead

    -2tbsp mashed bananas.
    -2tsp honey.

mash the bananas in a small plate mix in the honey and spread it on top of you’re peanut butter.
and if you grill you’re sandwich even better.
    delicious nutritious enjoy.
