Great vid and job … Great vid and job of preserving the hide, the only thing I would suggest, is when salting the hide, to use a tarp of some sort ,since that amount of salt will kill the soil in that area
Keep it under cover … Keep it under cover. If it gets wet it was bad planning but not the end of the world, just re-salt it and keep it dry.
People are too concerned about spoilage. In a survival situation you could use the hide (and sinew, etc.) from a decaying animal even if you didn’t have any salt!

Do you need to preserve it before tanning it? Or can you skip the preserving step and jump straight to tanning…like…skin, flesh, tan?
