if the ghee is hot it will be transparent and will have brownish color, but after it solidifies when cold, it will also be white,
other facts related to color of ghee:
    1. If the milk which is used as foundation is cow milk then ghee will become yellow after solidification and if the milk is buffalo milk then the color will be white
    2. the cow milk is really good for children ( makes sharper in activity and presence of mind) so as ghee.

  7. mohanrajender says:

    The more correct …
    The more correct method is:
    1. Take cream (Malai) out of the cold milk, it should be sizable qty. (at least 1 cup)
    2. then put it in the pan and heat the pan.
    3. keep stirring it with spoon.
4.the froth with fat granuals will start forming, keep stirring,
    5. when the color of fat granual start turing golden, put the pan off the stove immediately and transfer the this ghee without filtering into some other pan,

LOL! i thort my Mom was the only person on the planet who use2make homemade ghee! My dad would bring abt 100 blocks of butter & my mom would do xactly what your doin in a HUGE pan. it took abt 3hrs (considerin the amount) but she’d put a small handful of chapati flour in @ the last 20mins [i think that got rid of the foam] then she’d sieve it in2 a HUGE container. but i’m sure the butter use 2b salted. It was the best thing eva2cook with! Butter was xpensive then but ridiculously xpensive now!
