How does a cool bag work and can it be used to preserve tuna if it was kept at room temperature for 5 hours?

Please see my previous question for more info:

More info : The tuna will be from a can that will be opened at 8am and consumed at 1pm.

A cool bag works by insulating the item and keeping the heat from outside bag from warming the product up. Unless the item is already warm it will make no difference. If you have and ice or similar then it can be used to chill the Tuna however I would not advise refreezing.

Depending on the age of the fish when you bought it you don’t have long before it is going ot smell bad if it isn’t already so don’t make your cool bag stink and good luck.
