If you could attend any baseball game in history, which game would you attend and why would you attend it?

The game I would want to attend is the last game at Tiger Stadium in Detroit. That game is the most important baseball game I have ever watched and although I attended the second to last game at Tiger Stadium this was the last MLB game that ever was played at Tiger Stadium. Today, Tiger Stadium stands vacant and although there have been some amateur games played there along with the movie 61 was filmed at Tiger Stadium, the stadium today sits abandoned and I since I do not ever see it being used again in the future, I think that the stadium should be demolished but the field should be preserved for future generations to play baseball.

White Soxs and the Cubs….I like the cross town rivalry.

Game 6 of the 1993 World Series at SkyDome in Toronto, to see Joe Carter hit his walk-off homer to win the series for the Blue Jays. One of the greatest sports memories in my lifetime.

I wish I had been alive at the time Babe Ruth supposedly called his home run shot at Wrigley Field. I don’t really think he did call it. I probably would have been getting a beer at the time and missed it anyway, so it hardly matters.

I would attend the White Sox game when they won the 2005 World Series because that’s my hometeam and I enjoy the experience of being in the ballpark watching them play.

THe game Krich Gibson Hit the Home Run for the Las Angelas Dodgers with two bad lets. That or any Yankees Red Sox game because of the rivalry.

I’d have to say September 27 1920 in Chicago. White Sox last game of the season and the last game of the late great… if not The Greatest baseball player ever; Shoeless Joe Jackson.

I would go to game 6 of the 1975 World Series. Fisks home run would be great to see. I would also like to see Hank Aaron hit #715

How about October 1, 1960 when Roger Maris broke Babe Ruth’s single season homerun record by hitting #61….and he did it without steriods!

I didnt want to attend the last game at Tiger Stadium. I would have cried the whole game. I grew up in southwest Detroit (Vernor & Central), and used to take the Baker bus to TS all the time as a kid growing up. I used to camp out in the upper bleachers and always got there when the gates opened (back then it was 2 hours before game time)…my favorite was double headers…remember those? as Ernie used to say, 2 for the price of One.

I have very fond memories of Tiger Stadium. I agree it should be torn down, and the field instead preserved for our children, with a small plaque detailing it’s history.

Sorry to have gotten off topic, it’s just Tiger Stadium will always have a special place in my heart.

Now, the game I would have loved to be at was game 7 of the 1968 World Series! I was 9 when it happened, and I saw it on tv…and I freaked out when Bill Freehan caught that ball for the final out–and then jumped in Mickey Lolich’s arms. Very fond memories indeed.
