Does anyone know how to do this math word problem?

To determine the number of deer in a game preserve a conservationist catches 329 deer, tags them and lets them loose. Later, 624 deer are caught; 208 of them are tagged. How many deer are in the perserve?

329*624/208 = 987 are in total.

    Ok.
    Number of deer tagged: 329
    624 caught, and 208 tagged.
    So the number of deer that were tagged, but not caught, has to be: 624-208 = 416.
    SORRY. I WAS DUMB! Ok.EDIT:
    416 were caught but not tagged. SO, you have 416 + the original 329.
    416+329=745.

    Idk, at least 745

    624 – 208 that were tagged = 416 not tagged

    416 not tagged + 329 tagged = 745

    there has to be more, there is no way that they caught all the untagged ones.

    329 deers = number of deers caught and tagged the first time

    208 deers = number of deers re-caught with tags our of 624 deers caught the second time.

    Find: x = number of deers in the preserve

    Solution:
    No. of Deers Caught the First Time andTagged + No. of Deers Caught without Tags Second Time + No. Deers Still Uncaught without Tag = x
    329 + (624 – 208) + still uncaught without tag = x
    329 + 416 + still uncaught without tag = x
    745 + still uncaught without tag = x

    AT LEAST, there are 745 deers in the preserve
