I’ve been looking into amnesia a little bit, and I’ve come across something called procedural memory. Apparently, it’s the memory to do things that you do subconsciously, such as reading, riding a bike, or tying one’s shoes. They’re the things you do without thinking.
From what I’ve read, this procedural memory is sometimes spared when a subject has amnesia. Therefore, they can still tie their shoes, ride bikes, and so on. I was just wondering if personal habits would fall into this category and if they would remain active. For example, if all my life I’ve had a habit of scratching my arm whenever I’m irritated, will I still scratch my arm in such moments after I lose my memory?

Or what if I used to always organize the bills in my wallet?
What if the only reason I began to habitually organize my money was because I have a memory of my father doing it all the time? Will I still continue the habit without the memory, or will both be lost?

What about personal quirks? Let’s say that whenever I lie, my left eye twitches. Will that remain after memory loss?

I’m also curious if this includes dialogue. For example, if I used to always respond to "How you doing?" with "Just fine, yourself?", would that be preserved at all? You know, if it’s so ingrained that I don’t even think about it when I do it.

Thanks for the help!

The answer is "Yes", but what behaviors you retian cannot be predicted because it cannot be fully determined how the information is stored. Procedural memory usually has to do with motor behavior, so verbal habits are unpredictable and may depend on the form of damage. It all can depend on the type of brain damage.

Hello, Im doing the Master Cleanse Detox just to restart my system and make healthier choices but I wanted to know is it ok to buy a large amount of organic lemons so I dont have to keep running to the store. I plan to juice all the lemons at once and use the amount needed for the day then preserve the rest. Is that ok?

Juice the amount of lemons you`re planning to intake the morning you`re doing the cleanse or the next day. I hear that squeezed lemon juice stay fresh no longer than 2 days. Do not keep your freshly purchased lemons in the fridge for more than 10 days. I did, and they`ve got green mold growing on them (what a waste.)

During recording, Sting accidentally sat down on a piano keyboard in the studio, resulting in the atonal piano chord and laughter preserved at the beginning of the track.

♥

Three songs:

1. Layla by Derek and the Dominoes (Eric Clapton) was written by Eric Clapton about his lover, who was married to one of the Beatles at the time.

2. Dear Maria Count Me In by All Time Low was actually a song to the bands friend Maria, who was an, ahem, exotic dancer.

3. Rocket Queen by Guns N Roses includes a recording of Axl Rose and Adriana (who was the girlfriend of GNR drummer Steven Adler at the time) having… relations on the floor of a studio. Yeah.

What’s the point of a thumbs down on THIS question?

I’m a black American, and I am well educated about Sub Saharan Africa. I’m not much interested in North Africa because I some reason don’t find it that interesting plus we learn about it in pre school and what not. What most interest me about Africa is the fighting styles that prospered there and found their way to the Americas. I look at the ones in the Americas, they seem well preserved and highly practice as a national sport or what not like capoeira, yuna onse, or ladja. But when I look at the ones in Africa they are rarely seen and neglected or dying.Like the Hiowalan of the Kissi forest people of Guinea.Seriously I read about this art. This stuff is like kung fu!!!! The sad thing its rarely practiced and neglected. Or the engolo, which was almost exstinct until capoeira showed up.
That’s something I really don’t get. The thing that is more sad is they would claim the ones in America was made in Africa as their own when it was unquestionably made in the Americas by African slaves whose roots lead to their parent arts in Africa. Why did you Africans let it die out in the first place. Blacks in the Americas were enslaved for 500 years and managed to preserve their culture. Africans were colonized for less than 100 years and all of sudden you accept other influences and neglect your own. Honestly there should be no excuse why you Africans let them die out and is really a disappointment.I can’t say for some like the Hausa, Wolof and South Africans but for the most, thumbs down. The reason black american arts are popular is because blacks influenced their culture own culture which relied on the mother (Africans). But now how can you rely on a mother who neglects her own children. Sad really.
To let you all know this is from my experience. I really don’t mean to type stuff like this. I just got caught up in a frustrating moment. I apologize if I hurt anyone in anyway

Much to your own surprise, there are still several martial arts in Africa still practiced. In the Americas, the Negr0’5 were able to use their own martial arts to hold on to cultural identity mostly due to the fact that the Americas were against Blacks holding guns. So they made sure that they could fight in some way.

Wow, saying Ne- Gro is bad. Its just the latin word for black…..

Can anyone suggest me, how could i make milk powder at Home, which’s cost effective. When excess of milk available , it may be good idea to convert it into milk powder & preserve it for later use. At the present situation, it become more and more expensive & unaffordable for a common men to buy either a fresh milk or milk powder from the markets.
Do i need to buy any machines, equipment or chemicals to do so???
sincere, advise will be highly appreciated.

Powdered milk is usually made from the milk left behind after butter has been churned out of it. It is then spray-dried in large heated containers, that would be quite a lot of equipment.

Alternatively, the milk can be dried by drum drying. Milk is applied as a thin film to the surface of a heated drum, and the dried milk solids are then scraped off with a knife. Powdered milk made by drum drying tends to have a cooked flavour, due to caramelization caused by greater heat exposure.

Yet another process is the use of freeze drying, freeze drying has the advantage of preserving many nutrients in milk compared to drum drying. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Powdered_milk

You could try to dry your own milk, but it would likely require heat and time, and the resultant product would likely taste cooked. It would certainly be edible, but I would not expect it to be greatly cost effective.

Freezing milk would be a better alternative, I believe. The freezing causes the milk to separate, so it is no longer homogenized, but it is still nutritious and can be used in cooking. It might work better to freeze it, then thaw it and let the milkfat come to the top, skim that off to make butter from, and drink the skim milk. If you are starting with non-homogenized milk, just separate the cream from the milk, make butter from that cream, and freeze the skimmed milk.

Making cheese from excess milk might be an even better solution, but that does require some equipment cheesecloth, etc.) and the cheese starter or enzymes must be purchased for a reliable product. It is also a time consuming and smelly proposition. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cheesemaking
