Rose water (also spelled Rosewater) can be used in cooking as well as a rich beauty aid.

Try some as a facial toner or astringent, in your bath water or as a facial splash (refresher).

Notes on Preparation:

■Rose petals must be freshly picked and have no pesticides or chemicals used on them.
■Pick the roses just after the morning dew has evaporated, about 2 to 3 hours after sunrise.
■Use only the petals, not the stems or leaves.
■Wash the petals quickly to remove any bugs or specks of dirt and immediately process with one of the methods below.
■If you don’t grow your own roses, ask at the local florist or Farmers Market for organic roses.
See Recipes Below For How To Make Rose Water…

Old Fashioned Recipe for Distilled Rosewater
(Rose Hydrosol)

Items Needed:

Fresh rose petals (3 to 4 quarts)
Ice cubes
Distilled Water
Enamel canning or stock pot with lid
Deep, heavy heat proof bowl

Directions:

■Fill the bottom of the pot with the rose petals and pour water over them until the petals are just covered. Place the bowl in the middle of the pot. The rim should be at least a couple inches higher than the water. If you have a canning rack, you can set the bowl on top of that so the bowl doesn’t sit directly over the heat. A pyrex loaf dish underneath the bowl would do the trick too. Set these in place first before adding the rose petals and water.
■Cover the pot with its lid, but position the lid upside down so that you have a dipped “container” to hold the ice on top (to be added later). Now turn on the heat and bring the water to a boil.
■Once the water is boiling, fill the top of the inverted pot lid with ice cubes. Turn the heat down and keep at a bare simmer for about two hours.
■Top up the ice as needed and quickly peek occasionally to see that the petals don’t boil dry.
This process will enable condensation to form on the top inside of the pot lid. The condensation will drip down into the bowl inside the pot, the liquid inside the bowl is your rose water.

I live in a mountain town and have realized food will last for a significant amount longer than when I lived in the humid midwest, tell me why interwebz.

The increased altitude would tend to make it cooler. In addition,, being in a mountain town it is less humid, so there is less moisture to cause spoilage.

These are not all that is needed to preserve food, but they are helpful.

Horse breeders and cattle companies use embryo flushing to safely remove embryos from good quality animals who frequently miscarry in order to implant them in recipient animals so they can carry these fetuses to full term and birth live calves and foals. We could do the same and should.

Uh, embryo flushing can’t be done in humans – we don’t have the same sort of uterus, we have a cervix that closes, and it ain’t an embryo until it is implanted on the uterine wall in the endometrium – what horse traders do is flush blastocysts. We do this sort of things in fertility clinics though, the fertilized eggs are sorted and frozen for future uterine transfer after one or a few are chosen for the present.

Terminations don’t occur until pregnancy, when there is a placenta – the placenta is what allows the embryo to grow and live, if removed it dies. Besides, no good doctor allows a live embryo to be delivered for termination, they are routinely killed before the procedure moves forward for extraction.

I completely agree but there are two things;

1. Doctors want to make more money.
2. They don’t care about the fetuses.

Fertility clinics and abortion clinics alike could save not only money by taking unwanted embryos from abortion clinics, but… well save unwanted embryos.

1) In humans, embryo transfer must take place 3-6 days after fertilization in order for the embryo to remain viable (they use this method at fertility clinics). However this is long before most methods of detection can tell if you are pregnant or not, and very long before most women get abortions.

2) It is not more cost effective; removed embryos must be transferred immediately or frozen, both of which are extremely costly compared to a d&c. Further, a physician performing a transfer must have vastly more knowledge and experience, which would make the process more expensive and limit the amount of procedures that could be done.

3) Most women that get abortions would not be comfortable with what is essentially their children being implanted into another human. If they were, they would likely be considering adoption instead.

He thinks it would only last up to an hour, but I’ve personally heard you can actually preserve them much longer than that in a jar at body tempreture.

Love to hear your answers and explanations!
When I say preserve I mean whats the longest it can last (stay alive)

hi you need to Google sperm extender this is supposed to store the sperm in a liquid is used to transport sperm to other clinic’s safely.

i live in illinois and there’s a forest preserve right outside of my apartment building that no one goes to. would i get in trouble if i put my target bag in front of a tree and practice shooting at it.

It really depends on the area and local laws. There are two reasons why you’d get in trouble:

1. You are presenting a danger to the public. Basically, alot of people get uneasy about this sort of thing. If you are firing arrows two steps off the public trail where families are walking, someone WILL complain. There’s a simple solution to this: don’t be where people are. Really, even if this is legal, its best not to draw undue attention. It’s the same with any hunting. I try to make as few people aware of what I’m doing as possible.

2. Weapons could be prohibited. Some public lands prohibit weapons. Some public lands would consider a weapon as evidence of hunting, and nail you for not having a license or hunting out of season even if you were just shooting a stump.

So…I’d read up about the weapons laws for the area. Most states hav a website which lists uses andd regulations for public land. If I did do this, I’d be discrete.

Chances are that if you are discrete, you’ll have no problems, but better safe than sorry. Breaking the rules will get you fined or worse and reflect poorly on hunters as a whole.

Follow this easy recipe to make chili sauce in the convenience of your home and win the admiration of those around you.

Difficulty:EasyInstructions
things you’ll need:
1 packet of dried red whole chilies (long or round)
Black pepper to taste
1 cup of sugar
2 cups of tomato ketchup
1/3 cup of vinegar
Water and a pan
Food processor/blender

1
Buy a packet of chilies from your local food store. Rinse them thoroughly. Remove any attached stems and place them in a deep pan. Add water until all the chilies are covered. Place the pan on the stove and let it boil and cook at a medium flame.

2
Remove the pan once the chilies are completely soft and there is still some water left at the bottom of the pan. Let the chilies cool.

3
Put the chilies and the remaining water in a food processor or a blender. Add vinegar, tomato ketchup, sugar and black pepper. Blend the ingredients until they resemble a fine paste.

4
Taste the chili sauce before placing it in air-tight containers. Store the containers in the refrigerator.
