Chatsworth Nature Preserve-Earth day 2009

Posted by admin on March 9th, 2010 and filed under preserve area | 1 Comment »

Earth day 2009 at the ecology lake in the Chatsworth Nature Preserve. Helpful nature guide talked about all the animals that are in the area and pointed out their tracks on the ground and what the paw prints look like. Ducks and geese were all over the lake and visitors could walk the 2 mile trail that looks into the original reservoir that is now being returned to wetlands. See www.chatsworthreservoir.com for the history
and what it looked like filled with water. This area is down the block from the Chatsworth lake market.
The preserve is only open to the public once a year on earth day.

I want to export avocado and mango from northern california (bay area) to eastern europe. Where do I go?

Posted by admin on February 23rd, 2010 and filed under preserve area | 1 Comment »

I need to know where I can buy them cheap and how should I go about buying them in large quantities. Can they go bad? Can I preserve their freshness? How? Where can I buy them in N Calif?

thanks

you would be better off importing these fruits from Mexico, where they are also produce and are of far better quality, specially the Avocados from Michoacan state. They fruit can go bad, but the distributor can help by shipping the fruit before its fully ripe, it will ripen enroute, similar to how Bananas are exported. you can also buy them in processed form, the pulp in vaccum bags, that can endure refrigeration for an even longer shelf life. check the link below for a list of Mexican Avocado and Fruit exporters.

Map shape and area (how to tell?)?

Posted by admin on February 19th, 2010 and filed under preserve area | 1 Comment »

I don’t exactly have a good grasp on telling which maps have preserved area or shape. What is the difference? Does the Mercator projection preserve area or shape?

A Mercator projection is a mathematical method of showing a map of the globe on a flat surface. This projection was developed in 1568 by Gerhardus Mercator a Flemish geographer, mathematician, and cartographer. Before this time, navigation charts used by sailors did not correctly account for the recently proven fact that the world was round. Mercator’s equations allowed cartographers (map-makers) to produce charts from which sailors could easily navigate. MercatorÂ’s projection preserves exactly what sailors needed — shapes and directions; they were very willing to accept the size distortion.

On a globe, the lines of longitude (measuring east-west position) converge at the poles and the lines of latitudes (measuring north-south position) are equal distance apart. In a Mercator projection, the lines of longitude are straight vertical lines equal distance apart at all latitudes, and horizontal distances are stretched above and below the equator this stretching is exaggerated near the poles. The Mercator projection mathematically stretches vertically distances by the same proportion as the horizontal distances so that shape and direction are preserved. The projection is not useful for latitudes near the poles; J-Track’s projection goes from 78 degrees north latitude to 70 degrees south latitude.

Trying to do a wedding reception outdoors in the Chicago land area.?

We have100 guests and want it to physically be outside maybe even at a forest preserve under a pavilion. We are under an extremely low budget, flying from Georgia in the military. also will be alcohol. Can anyone give us more info!

Check the websites for the Cook County Forest Preserves, the Lake County Forest Preserves and the Kane County Forest Preserves (any search engine will find the addresses for you). You have to reserve pavilions ahead of time, and the nicest ones go early in the season.

Can anyone tell me reasons for preserving Devil’s Postpile?

Posted by admin on February 15th, 2010 and filed under preserve area | 2 Comments »

I would like to know what is important about Devil’s Postpile to preserve it, and also effects the area had on human history, the agency that protects the area, and threats to the area’s existence.

The Devils Postpile is maintained by the National Parks Service. It was established in 1911 by presidential proclamation, Devils Postpile National Monument protects and preserves the Devils Postpile formation, the 101-foot high Rainbow Falls, and pristine mountain scenery. The formation is a rare sight in the geologic world and ranks as one of the world’s finest examples of columnar basalt. Its columns tower 60 feet high and display an unusual symmetry.

do women have C Section to preserve their vagina for better sex?

Posted by admin on February 13th, 2010 and filed under preserve area | 13 Comments »

by having a c section, women avoid damaging their sensitive areas of the vagina so that they can continue to have great orgasims during sex. If you have a baby the natural way, you ruin your sex drive and sensitive areas of the vagina, the G spot. Is this true?

LOL

it’s amazing that after childbirth that everything goes right back to where it was!

sex is the same after – except that you try not to wake the kids!

Why do some vegan and vegertians think there superior to others?

Posted by admin on February 9th, 2010 and filed under preserve area | 9 Comments »

Some(not all) seem to think your morally better and superior than someone who’s not like you. Why do also think someone who does serve same food diet as you does not love animal or save them. I don’t mean offense but your not really saving animals by your practice. Your just not choosing to eat a renewable animal source like cow which wont exist if we did not use them. I never seen any vegan group (like peta i researched them a lot) donating millions of dollars, work hard to protect acres of land for wild life habitats and preserving wilderness areas from development. While hunting and other conservation groups like "Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation" protected and enhanced over 4.8 million acres of habitat and ensured public access to more than 480,000 acres . RMEF is especially keen to restore long-absent animal populations, with herds being reestablished in Kentucky, North Carolina, Ontario, Tennessee, and Wisconsin.(http://www.rmef.org/) By some of your logic these groups hate animals.
by the way i am a conservations and a park ranger and devoted my life protecting wild-life and upholding environmental laws. I also have a lot for my job to kill invasions species and animal that are destroyed because someone chooses to feed them. (Nicole usually species don’t eat there own kind unless there starvation or some social purpose which is true for humans also. I’m sure must of heard about people eating each other during plane crash or of tribes that use to practice cannibalism. Some answer don’t even have do with question so why do even answer and preach why you picked diet and prove my question right,
vegan&proud Please look up the link i posted and other conservations groups. Also national parks and environmental movement was started by hunters like teddy Roosevelt and John Muir. I did my research on my part
You would see never mentioned anything about taxes i was only referring for what they do privately with money donate and raise. Do not be ignorant research before you respond.

You only hear the absolute crazies and there are a bunch of them on YA V&V. They are like religious fundamentalists all rant no substance. Way too busy foraging for food to become involved in a real life as yourself and many of us.
