February 1, 2008 Thank you to all the people who took time out of their busy lives to come and speak in support of the Plum Creek Concept Plan at the LURC public hearings. In total 231 people spoke in favor of the proposal at the four hearings: 43 at the first Greenville hearing. 47 in Augusta. 70 down in Portland. And 71 at the final hearing in Greenville. Some of the people who spoke as "neutrals" were also favorable of the Plum Creek plan but were speaking as neither for nor against because they thought Plum Creek was giving away too much! This is an incredible level of support for balanced economic development and conservation in the Moosehead Lake region.
