Coalition Mission

The Coalition to Preserve and Grow Northern Maine seeks to promote activities that provide job opportunities for the residents of northern Maine, ensure a sustainable forest products industry and conserve Maine’s natural resources for traditional recreational uses.

The Coalition will work towards a diverse economy based on natural resources, primarily forest products and tourism. The Coalition will promote the responsible development of infrastructure for the future economy. The Coalition also supports workforce housing options and a strong education system to serve the economic needs of the region.

The Coalition is comprised of a diverse group of individuals and organizations that bring a variety of viewpoints. The Coalition will seek open communication, public involvement and education about balancing conservation with economic opportunity throughout Maine.
